I've been a scriptwriter for several years now, starting with video reviews, advertorials and evergreen YouTube content. In June 2021, I became the scriptwriter of the Future Games Show and its sister event, the Golden Joystick Awards. With this new adventure came valuable experience in voice direction. Over the past few years, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with award-winning actors to establish tone, develop jokes, and perfect line reads. Some of the actors I've written for include Troy Baker, Denise Gough, Nolan North, Laura Bailey, Christopher Judge, Ashly Burch, Doug Cockle, Maggie Robertson, John Macmillan, and Yuri Lowenthal.Previous clients include Future Publishing, IGN, Fandom and Logitech.

As a freelance reporter, I've travelled the world, covering countless events, previews, and studio visits. Over the past ten years, I've also written thousands of guides, features, reviews and profiles for leading publications, including The Washington Post, The BBC, The Guardian, IGN, NME, The British Medical Journal and many more.

Consultancy is a craft that I've been honing throughout my career. In addition to providing communications guidance for gaming and media brands, I've consulted on a broad spectrum of video game projects, from early-stage indies right up to blockbuster AAA.Usually, I'm asked to leverage my years of experience as a journalist to evaluate concepts and deliver mock reviews of games at varying stages of development. All of my consultancy work has been completed under NDA, so naturally, I can't namedrop my clients. But if you're looking for a sharp consultant with a keen critical eye and over a hundred projects under his belt... don't hesitate to say hello!

I've penned scripts for video game voice actors and written a wealth of articles about games, but I've never written explicitly for games, and I'd like to change that.If you're looking for a contract writer, editor or script consultant and think I'd be a good fit, please get in touch!Over the years, I've dabbled in all aspects of game development and have experience working in Unity, GameMaker, Blender, Bitsy, Ableton, Twine, Asesprite and Bethesda's Creation Kit.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy working on design projects that spur my imagination. I'm always looking for more opportunities to engage my artistic side.I usually find myself tinkering in the Adobe suite, but I'm also proficient in Procreate, Blender and Aseprite.

Pivot to video, they said. So I did! After completing my undergraduate degree in Archaeology, I pursued a Masters in Media and Journalism at Newcastle University, specialising in documentary filmmaking.During my time on the course, I directed three documentaries. My final project was a feature about the game development scene in my local area. I organised several studio visits to interview developers and edited the piece myself. My writing career took off after that, so I had to put the camera down. Still, I've maintained my video editing and production skills by growing my Twitch and YouTube channels.
